Adam Kinney talks about the Media Player control in Silverlight 3.

For some reason I missed this until just recently, but Silverlight 3 comes with a MediaPlayer control courtesy of the Expression team. If you open the Assets panel and search for media, you’ll find both the MediaElement and the MediaPlayer, which you can then draw out on the artboard like any other control.

Adam Kinney has dedicated a post to Silverlight-based gaming.

When Silverlight 1.0 came out the focus was on media, graphics and animation.  The media capabilities of Silverlight have continued to advance and large scale projects have continued to impress.  Well-known Silverlight media projects include the Olympics, Democratic National Convention, and Presidential Inauguration.  Some of the newer projects include NetFlix Instant Watch, RAI.tv and CBS choosing Silverlight for March Madness.
