About the Tour: The Silverlight Tour is
a four-day intensive course on Silverlight 4. Through lessons,
demonstrations and hands-on labs, you will learn and experience
the ins and outs of design, development and server-side programming
with Silverlight. The workshop covers Expression Blend and Visual Studio,
architecting Silverlight solutions, communication with servers, creation
of Dynamic XAML content and more
(check the full list of topics covered).
The class shows Silverlight 4 as well as the latest toolset from
Microsoft (including Visual Studio 2010, Expression Blend 4,
Expression Design, Expression Encoder, Deep Zoom Composer).
Throughout the course attendees work on several labs, part of
a full Silverlight application.
Silverlight is about building Internet applications so experience
building web applications is encouraged. In addition, since Silverlight
utilizes .NET to build online experiences, familiarity with .NET is
suggested. No specific experience with WPF or XAML is necessary.
Bonus: each attendant gets a diploma, a "Silverlight 3
Jumpstart" book and a free license of
Telerik's RadControls for Silverlight ($999 value).
