Yazgelistir is an online platform for Turkish speaking developers using Microsoft technologies. Their keyword is “sharing”; sharing information through articles, events, reader contribution, forums etc.
On May 29th, another successful YazGelistir event - the YazGelistir Summit - took place at the Microsoft Istanbul office. Numerous .NET developers from all around Turkey were present and got the chance to network with Turkish MVP's, Microsoft staff and YazGelistir editors/writers.
The keynote started off with Kerem Ozsu and Atakan Kesler, both Microsoft Regional Directors, who highlighted the latest trends in Microsoft technologies. They were followed by Goksin Bakir, Managed Partner and Client Lead and DPE at Microsoft at Microsoft MEA, and Selcuk Uzun, Development Technologies Manager at Microsoft, who outlined the activities of YazGelistir and how developers could contribute to generate technical content.
The keynote continued with Baransel Dogan, MVP Lead for Middle East & Turkey at Microsoft, highlighted community activities, which made a developer stand out from the crowd and eventually lead to an MVP nomination. The next MVP announcements will be made July 1st; you might be among the lucky ones!
During the keynote, Daron Yondem , Silverlight MVP and Microsoft Regional Director, presented how to create a Silverlight application targeting different platforms, such as Web, desktop and mobile devices, in less than 10 minutes.
The Yazgelistir Summit report series will continue with an overview about the individual presentations on Silverlight, Visual Studio 2010, ASP.NET 4.0 and ASP.NET MVC 2. The series will end with an interview with Daron Yondem who shared his experience and impressions on Silverlight 4.
