I’ve had several requests for this so I’ve posted the source code here.  Again, big thanks to Richard Zadorozny for these samples.

Vista UI designs for buttons have a very distinct look.

Create glassy feedback buttons easily using Microsoft Expression Design. Here are the steps:

    1. Choose the Rectangle tool and, while holding the Shift key, drag a square shape 250 pixels square. On the Edit Rectangle panel that appears on the Properties pane, set the Corner Radius to 45 points.

    2. Click on the Fill tab and then click on the bright orange color swatch in the favorite swatches section.

    3. Click on the Stroke tab and choose the None stroke type button to remove the stroke.

This is the basic button shape which should be on a layer of its own.

As Sean noted in this blog post, he commissioned a handful of Silverlight skateboard decks based on the one in the intro video on silverlight.net.  Sean gave me a few of these to hand out at my MIX talk, but he also graciously gave me one as well.  A few of these were made into complete skateboards like the pics in Sean’s blog post, but I got just the deck.  I wanted to build this into a functioning skateboard as I did a lot of skating in high school and college.

I dialed up the parts from CCS and took pictures of the assembly process.

I’ve made a few updates and fixes to the VideoSearch sample posted below.  Most notably, I fixed an issue with image files not always being present.  The source is at the same location.

I’m a few days late but finally getting around to posting my Mix session samples and source.  The first sample is of a front-end I built for MSN video.  The sample is available online here with the source here.  Here’s a screen shot of the sample:

    Readers,

It has been almost a week since a big wind storm hit the pacific northwest and my family is staying in an alternative house since our house is still without power (with sub freezing night tempratures). At least no trees ended on our roof. Well, now that we have some place warm to be, I could spend some more time looking at what people are doing with "WPF/E" and I wanted to talk about a sample on Mike Taulty blog that shows 12 videos playing and animating concurrently.
