If you are having problem with mixing up server side controls and Silverlight then you should definitly read this post of Al Pascual.

There is when the user will find the problem about mixing up server side controls and Silverlight, the server side controls will cause postbacks that will refresh the Silverlight control. To avoid that problem, the developer may want to use MS ASP.NET AJAX to avoid the server side controls from doing a postback using the UpdatePanel. For this to work there is a simple modification that you need to do at the page where you are hosting the Silverlight control.

Tomasz Janczuk has posted a sample which shows how an AJAX browser application can receive asynchronous data notifications from a WCF service exposed using the HTTP polling duplex protocol that shipped in Microsoft Silverlight 3.
The sample code contains a reusable, standalone JavaScript library (sl3duplex.js) which implements the client side of the polling duplex protocol. The full source code and Visual Studio solution is available for download. Please also check the Silverlight development environment prerequisites.

Jordan Knight has made a simple Ajax style loading animation in Silverlight and he has included live demo and sample code for the project.

    Jordan:
I had the need a while back for a spinny loading animation thingy - they seem to be the industry standard “ajaxy load” animation of choice, so I figured I would wack one in my Silverlight application.

In this “How to” we are going to learn how to create your own Visual WebGui Silverlight theme using our default theme.

Visual WebGui (VWG) SDK supplies you with a default theme to your application. This theme holds the default display specification to all the VWG controls.
The VWG silverlight installation adds a new project type “Visual WebGUI Silverlight Theme”. This project allows you to take the default theme and design it according to your needs.

Lets open one of the previous application that we created in one of our previous “How to”.
