Gizmox released its Visual WebGui development environments' version 6.3.3 as a further stabilization of the 6.3 Ajax & Silverlight framework/platform for developing and deploying RIAs.

Visual WebGui allows you to develop and deploy web applications using WinForms methdologies as well as an easy migration path from desktop applications to the web. It also allows to create multi presentation layers from the same code base and to choose between presenting in DHTML or Silverlight.

In this “How to” Visual WebGui tutorial we are going to create WatermarkTextBox  control for a Visual WebGui Silverlight application.

This topic assumes that you have some basic knowledge of Visual WebGui and Its also recommended that you read the “How to create a Visual WebGui Application” artical.

The WatermarkTextBox is a plain TextBox control, with one added feature of showing a default text when no content was entered or when the content was deleted.

The first thing we’ll need to do is open visual studio and create a new Visual WebGui Silverlight Application.

In this “How to” we are going to learn how to create your own Visual WebGui Silverlight theme using our default theme.

Visual WebGui (VWG) SDK supplies you with a default theme to your application. This theme holds the default display specification to all the VWG controls.
The VWG silverlight installation adds a new project type “Visual WebGUI Silverlight Theme”. This project allows you to take the default theme and design it according to your needs.

Lets open one of the previous application that we created in one of our previous “How to”.
