Eighth-grader Preston Oakes has long been concerned about the number of dogs euthanized every year. Maybe, just maybe, he thought, if families did a little more research and found a good match in a dog from the get-go, they would be less likely to abandon it later on.
That was the spark that led Preston, who attends the Fulton Science Academy Middle School in Alpharetta, to turn a desire to save dogs into a science project. Now his science project — dubbed Dog-A-Pedia — has quickly barked its way up among the hottest new apps for the Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 7.
