Silverlight and Silverlight for Windows Phone offer a great way of simplifying HTTP GET requsts: WebClient class. WebClient encapsulates the primary logic of HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse classes in order to receive GET data. These classes are completely transparent in most common scenarios.
