Telerik, a leading vendor of development tools and user interface components for the Microsoft .NET Framework, announced the official release of RadControls for Microsoft Silverlight 4. The suite is natively built on Silverlight 4 and takes advantages of the new capabilities to offer a rich environment for developing robust and lightning-fast enterprise applications.  A brand new, native RichTextBox debuts in RadControls for Silverlight 4; the suite features Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and Microsoft SharePoint 2010 support, multi-touch support and more.

“We have been developing our RadControls for Silverlight 3 and RadControls for Silverlight 4 suites simultaneously, to make sure that our customers have access to all platform’s versions and respective advantages,” said Svetozar Georgiev, Telerik CEO. “We are excited to launch the official RadControls for Silverlight 4 controls, together with a brand new online demo application, built with and showcasing the suite.”

Telerik’s simultaneous release of the latest RadControls suite enables developers to take advantage of the latest features in Silverlight 4,” said Brian Goldfarb, director of the developer platform group at Microsoft Corp. “Microsoft is excited about the opportunity this creates for Web developers to unleash their creativity using the powerful features of RadControls and Silverlight.”

Both developers and designers can work with RadControls for Silverlight 4 in various environments such as Expression Blend and SharePoint 2010. The controls are seamlessly integrated within Visual Studio 2010, enabling developers to quickly begin developing Silverlight applications with unprecedented design-time support. A design-time preview for each control is supported out of the box, as is the Visual Studio 2010 property explorer for Silverlight controls.

The new native Silverlight 4 RichTextBox debuts with features such as rich text formatting, various layouts and views with stunning performance even with large documents, allowing you to easily integrate Microsoft Word-like editing in your Silverlight application.

A new showcase of RadControls for Silverlight 4 is available, demonstrating the unbeatable performance, interactivity and visual appeal that can be achieved with the suite.
