Frank La Vigne has created a very basic downloading tool for grabbing all the MIX10 Session Content.

Absolutely, no frills, in the UI . Seriously. Downloads are all synchronous. Did I mention it was a no frills, quick and dirty app? It’s alpha code all the way. On the plus side, it renames the files to something more friendly than just the session code.

In his talk at MIX10 Dan Wahlin discussed empty storyboards, using markers, animating custom attached properties and creating a MediaTimeline behavior. Now you can download the code demonstrating these techniques from his blog.

Silverlight provides a flexible animation engine that can be used to transform and manipulate objects in a timeline. While you can do nearly anything you’d like to objects using Storyboards things get a little tricky when you want to synchronize storyboards with audio or video files. There are several different approaches that can be taken to keep things in sync.

In episode 14, Mike Harsh joins John Papa to demonstrate the Windows Phone 7 device and the tooling used to create applications for it.

Mike covers the phone, how to write a Silverlight app for it, how to run that app in the emulator, and how to deploy it to the phone. The simplicity of this demo is how easy it truly is to take your Silverlight skills and apply them to WP7 devices.

MIX10 will officially kick off tomorrow with the keynote; there is a lot of speculation on what the actual announcements will be and we are waiting in excitement for surprises. Various pre-conference workshops already took place on Sunday, ranging from Silverlight 4 to ASP.NET MVC to HTML4 bootcamps, but Windows Phone seemed to dominate the discussion in the halls. Conference registration was already open today and you could receive your attendee badge plus the MIX10 bag with SWAG.

Apparently, many MIX attendees already arrived on Saturday and Sunday; so the Tweetup at the Mandalay Bay Mix Lounge Sunday evening was pretty crowded. The networking was as spectacular as the view from the roof on the 61th floor. There are going to be numerous social events during MIX10 besides the official attendee party on Tuesday; so it is definitely a good idea to
check out the MIX10 events site with a list of all the events. In fact, in Vegas, being geek simply equals being social!

The MIX10 breakout sessions will be recorded and available online within 24 hours of the session. More insider news will follow on the upcoming conference days, so do not forget to check on in here at SilverlightShow!
