Webinar summary: Windows 8 Metro style apps will give users a great experience. Apps promise the user to be alive and connected. Being connected means interfacing with services and the cloud. But what options do we have to make the connection to the outside world?
In this session, we'll explore how WinRT apps can connect with services (WCF, REST...) and the cloud to offer a great experience. We'll also see how internals like roaming data can be used in your apps.

Gill Cleeren is Microsoft Regional Director (www.theregion.com), MVP ASP.NET, INETA speaker bureau member and Silverlight Insider. He lives in Belgium where he works as .NET architect at Ordina. Passionate about .NET, he’s always playing with the newest bits. In his role as Regional Director, Gill has given many sessions, webcasts and trainings on new as well as existing technologies, such as Silverlight, ASP.NET and WPF at conferences including TechDays Belgium, DevDays Netherlands, NDC Norway, SQL Server Saturday Switzerland, Spring Conference UK, etc. He’s also the author of many articles in various developer magazines and organizes the yearly Community Day event in Belgium.
