Naughton has dedicated three posts on Silverlight 3 DataForm. In the first one he investigates the DataForm control mappings and its basic modifications. The second one revisits the DataForm Control Mapping again but this time is adding Extensibility. And the last one is on adding a property to DataForm to get more control over the default IValueConverter implementation.

Bob Thomson announces that another mapping application named Summer Cabinet Map 2009 has just gone live.Pic

While the DWQR Map we published earlier in the week was more about the presentation and dissemination of information – pretty much a one way flow - the Summer Cabinet Map is much more about trying to engage with a community and provide an online destination where the distribution of information can become the start point for a conversation with users.

In the Storm Ideas blog there are three new posts which are part of a series about Silverlight, DeepZoom and DeepEarth. The team has been doing some interesting work on Silverlight mapping over the last few weeks that deserves your attention. They have also created an example of how to use a combination of RoadRecord search and Guided Navigation along with a DeepZoom collection of images in order to browse a large number of used car adverts in a very visual manner. Their last post is concentrated around Silverlight data visualisation. All of the posts are accompanied by short videos that illustrate the technique which the team is trying to explain.

    Introduction

With the beta release of Silverlight 3 a lot of new goodies were introduced and one of them was the navigation framework and in the final release additional features were added. It allows us to easily implement navigation between the newly introduced Page controls in a Silverlight application, interacts with the Browser History journal and provides us with Uri mapping. To learn more about these features read on the article.

For this article the demo will be the Mini SilverlightShow application, which I used not a long time ago as a demo to my article about the Telerik's RadPageNavigation control.
