Crocus Girl wanted to test the Adobe Photoshop File import feature in Expression Blend 3 and then she decided to take her plan one step further and create a sample Splash screen with her illustration files.Image

In order to observe the loading experience and get a chance to test a simple animation, I included two sample video files in the project. Therefore the initial loading is incredibly slow. The animation has no complicated tricks; it only manipulates the opacity property and runs forever in autoreverse mode. Actually it runs until you are hypnotized by all the blinking!

In this post Janete Perez focuses on the ability to import an Adobe Illustrator .ai file and converting the content to Silverlight 3 or WPF objects.

Similar to the Photoshop import results, you can add interactivity to all imported Illustrator content! This includes any prototyping features, animation, data-binding, and all of the Blend 3 functionality :)

Alex Knight explains how with the introduction of Expression Blend 3 comes the ability to import Photoshop files directly into your project, allowing you to create designs in a product you are familiar with and not have to start from scratch when applying it to your Silverlight or WPF application.Pic

Expression Design has always had the ability to import Illustrator files. By allowing you to now import both Illustrator and Photoshop files directly into your blend project, Microsoft has supplied the tools to fast track your designs from concept to working application.
