SilverlightShow Page for all Silverlight and Windows Phone 7 (WP7) things on TwitterIn this episode of Silverlight TV, UX legend Bill Buxton discusses how integrated devices with things that "just work together," UX, and touch might all be in our lives to a much larger degree in the near future.

    Source: Silverlight Team Blog

This is a short conversation with Bill where he touches on his thoughts about the next version of Surface, UX, and the new UX Lightning series at MIX11, which he compares to "speed dating." Bill also drops an interesting nugget—he's used nothing but slates/tablets since Nov 2002, and he even wrote his popular book on a tablet!

    Q. Hi Peter. Congratulations on becoming the first runner-up in our Eco Contest, with your application ‘Do you twig?’! Our community already knows you as one of SilverlightShow article authors – you are currently running quite a popular series of articles on XNA for Silverlight developers. How did you decide to join our contest?

    A. As with most private projects I'm working on, it was a very spontaneous decision. I read about the contest and perceived the idea of creating awareness for ecological problems as a great and sensible plug (I had completely missed 2010's contest).

Mike Taulty and John Papa are on the road again at MIX11 next month for a reprisal of their Silverlight Bootcamp.

    Source: John Papa's Blog

Last year we had a full house and discussed Silverlight 3 … hard to believe that was a year ago! This year we’ll be talking about Silverlight 4 and 5. We’ve decided to shake things up a bit this year and talk about topics that we feel that are crucial to building solid apps with Silverlight. Me being the data guy at heart, of course this involves solid practices for data access, binding, validation, templating with data, retrieval of data, REST, WCF, LINQ, serialization, isolated storage, OData, RIA Services, and visualizations of data. Probably much more, but I think you get the idea.
