Davide Zordan has another great multi-touch post in which he talks about this approach which is now available in WPF using Expression Blend 4 RC and the TranslateZoomRotateBehavior.

I’ve already blogged about adding multi-touch support to Silverlight applications using Blend behaviors (you can also read my italian language article).

This is a powerful and simple approach which is now available in WPF using Expression Blend 4 RC and the TranslateZoomRotateBehavior.

Pete Brown posted an interview with Josh Blake about NaturalShow, his multi-touch not-PowerPoint presentation approach, written in WPF.

Josh uses multi-touch to navigate through a really clever way of presenting material. I'd try and describe it, but it's really best if you watch it.

If you don’t have touch device but want to develop multi-touch Silverlight application for Windows Phone 7, this post of Michael Sync might be very useful to you.

If you prefer to watch the screen-cast created by the original developer of Multi-touch Vista, you can watch it here. But as there is no audio and the way that he presented is a bit fast for the most of viewers, I decided to write the step-by-step tutorial based on his screen-cast. I give the full credit to the original developer of Multi-touch Vista. He has done very good job.

  • Multi-Touch enabling Silverlight Simon using Blend behaviors and the Surface sample for Silverlight

Davide Zordan already blogged about using Blend behaviors to add Multi-Touch gestures and inertia effects to a generic Silverlight user control, so he wanted to use the same approach to add the same behaviors to the CodePlex project Simon.
I think that inserting multi-touch manipulation effects to a Silverlight application using Blend behaviors is an elegant way which makes the code very clear and readable.

In this episode of Silverlight TV, John Papa interviews Ward Bell about the multi-touch application that his company wrote for UFC using Silverlight.

John ran into Silverlight MVP Ward Bell of IdeaBlade while at MIX10 (how could anyone miss him!). Ward was kind enough to sit and talk with John to show off the multi-touch application his company wrote for UFC using Silverlight. It uses multi-touch, Caliburn, MVVM, and, of course, Silverlight!

  • Announcing touch.codeplex.com - Multi-touch for Silverlight 3/4 and WPF 3.5sp1

0 comments  /  posted by  Silverlight Show  on  Feb 15, 2010 (4 months ago)
Marc Schweigert in public sector just announced the availability of touch.codeplex.com, a set of multi-touch behaviors for WPF 3.5sp1, Silverlight 3 and Silverlight 4.

One of the things I have been trying to do this year is encourage / kick start partners to create useful CodePlex projects. I’ve been digging into Windows 7 multi-touch since it was announced at PDC08.  As the managed (.NET) APIs available for WPF 3.5 SP1, Silverlight, and WPF 4 started to materialize, it became clear that there were varying levels of developer productivity for building multi-touch solutions.

  • Silverlight TV Episode 3: Multi-Touch 101 with Silverlight

In this episode John Papa interviews the Silverlight MVP David Kelley about developing multi-touch applications in Silverlight.

David discusses the types of multi-touch hardware and his experiences in developing real world multi-touch applications. Then he jumps right into the code and shows how to create a multi-touch application with Silverlight 3 or 4! The application David demonstrates walks through the key multi-touch events, handling those events, touch IDs, tracking the location of the touch points, and much more.

In this post, David Kelley talks about Silverlight Multi-Touch and its benefits.

John Papa asked me to help do a 10 minute segment for the Silverlight TV show for Channel 9. This got me thinking about multi touch from a demo standpoint and made me really think about what we have learned so far.

Davide Zordan has updated the behavior available in the Expression Community gallery adding Multi-Touch manipulation (translation, rotation and zoom) and inertia effects.

To enable Multi-Touch in your code simply download the behavior from here, add the project “MultiTouch.Behaviors.Silverlight” to a Visual Studio solution and then enable the gestures in XAML.
